Bargello Tobacco Leaf
The Bargello print was adapted from 19th century English porcelain, and combines random dashes of red, green, blue, yellow, orange and magenta- in a ikat fashion. The overall effect is fresh, vibrant, and versatile. We love mixing and matching collection pieces with Tobacco Leaf - they balance each other perfectly. This extravagant design was originally made in China, probably for export to the Portuguese and Brazilian markets. Of all the 18th century dinner patterns, this was the most highly prized. A small phoenix bird perches on the leaves of the flowering Nicotiana (Tobacco) plant. Both designs by Mottahedeh.
